On November 15, 2013, Town of Morinville Administration received a petition for a new bylaw eliminating the use of photo radar and red light camera enforcement. On December 10, 2013, the petition was deemed to be sufficient. A bylaw was prepared on the subject matter and presented to Council on January 14, 2014 at which time Council gave 1st reading. The bylaw was then presented to Council on January 28, 2014 for 2nd reading, which it received. Council then passed a motion to bring the bylaw to a vote of the electors. The vote was held on Monday, April 14, 2014 with 525 Yes votes and 654 No. The Bylaw (#1/2014) was NOT passed and therefore Photo Radar and Red Light Cameras may be utilized in Morinville.
